As I write this week’s blog I am sitting in the passenger seat of our car as we make our way up to the lake with our friends for our summer holiday. Christmas is over and today feels like the first day in weeks we can breathe, it is also the first time in the past week I have felt like we are actually on holidays. I do love this time as it gives everyone with busy schedules time to catch up with their loved ones, but I feel everyone gets caught up in the stress and trying to make everything perfect that they forget it is suppose to be time for family and appreciating each other. Regardless if it is the silly season or not I feel no one has any spare time anymore, everyone’s schedules are completely booked out from work to events and kids play-dates or party’s.
I often have people ask me when do I get time to write these days as I still work full time and our property requires a lot of upkeep and the truth is like everyone else any chance I can. I do plan with my partner a couple hours here and there but its not enough and I have found that I now have to book time in our family calendar just for me time which means writing time. It does sound a bit ridiculous but I do think there is so many women out there in the same boat as me, trying to pursue their career, keeping up with the family, as well as having some time to their-selves to prevent them from going insane.
In this day and age life is so fast with technology and over socializing that we get a bit lost but we must remember its so important to make time for yourself whether you pour a hot bath, read a book or go for a twenty minute walk, find and make the time to do what you love as twenty minutes of clarity will make your work easier and help you be a better person.
If you enjoyed this post, I’d be very grateful if you’d help it spread by emailing it to a friend or sharing it on Twitter or Facebook. Thank you!
