Hey Everyone,
I hope your weekend is off to a great start. This week I am talking about fears. We are all scared of something and some of us are fearful of many different things, it could be of heights, spiders, public speaking, being alone, the dark and the list goes on. All for reasons we don’t quite understand. This life is forever changing and throwing us curve balls, challenging us and creating opportunities and experiences that will push us out of our comfort zone and help us grow into the people we were meant to be.
There are so many things that are scary in this world we live in, but there is also so much beauty and so much of this life to live. The time we have here on earth is so short and we are only touching the surface of what we can do, see and achieve. That is why I believe we have dreams; our dreams help bring out the inner child we sometimes forget that is inside of us, and that same child, we sometimes lock up, they help remind us that we can want and do more than our current situation and that there is nothing wrong with that.
Everything I have ever been afraid of, that I have been forced to face with this life’s ever-changing motions have not only made me a stronger person, but it has also given me the greatest of highs whilst accomplishing.
“Be afraid and do it anyway”
This is my new favourite quote as it resonates with me so much. It’s okay to be scared and afraid, there is absolutely nothing wrong with feeling this way as it is only human nature. After all we are supposed to be afraid, as it is our natural survival instincts coming out and trying to protect us. For me personally, I am afraid of living this life with the regret of not trying! Not pushing myself in situations and giving up when things get too hard. That is my greatest fear.
A life with regrets is a life unlived. And this honestly could not be more truthful. Everything is a choice and I refuse to be held back from the things I would like to do, whether it is myself, my fear or another person, I am pushing back and taking those risks no matter what the outcome will be and if I fall in the process, that is okay, because I tried, I will get up and I will try again. Because if I don’t, I will always think to myself “What if? What would have happened? Where would I be now?” and that is no way to live, because thoughts like those hold us back in the past, when we need to keep growing and being either present in the current moment in our life or excited about our future.
It is important to remember your dreams and while chasing them, not to sacrifice your true self, or hurt anyone to achieve them. The bravest of people I have had the pleasure and opportunity to know and to meet were not rude, nor were they stuck up. They were brave by never giving up on themselves and the beliefs that stem back to their core. They were kind and grateful for the challenges and experiences they had been given and they knew when they had reached their goal and really cherished the moment, and the life that they had worked so hard to have.
I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your weekend, be true and kind to one another and please remember… Every day is a new day to try, you can quit your day job, just don’t ever give up on yourself or your dream.
