Hey friends,
It has been another week and I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend and hope that your week is going along smoothly.
In previous posts I have touched on the influence of the people in your life and how some people are “here for a reason or a season” which, if you know me well or have read my previous posts you would know that it is my favourite quote and has been such a great tool for me. I have learnt in this life that people can be so beautiful and an incredibly positive influence on you and others can be a disruptive force. Most people that have influenced me have been brief meetings, others long term and I am grateful for all of those as well as the ones that have taught me not to be so naive.
I think that sometimes we hold on to relationships much longer than we require because we get comfortable. That friend, family member or lover is predictable and for that reason we see security in them as we know exactly what we are going to get or not get from them and yet, even if they are draining our life, we keep them around because the fear of being alone is so strong for some.
I believe it is important to keep as many positive people around you to build you up as possible, as we live in a time when everyone wants to see you come crashing down. It is so easy to get caught up in the drama and negativity, but it takes a lot more effort to stay happy and keep those positive thoughts flooding in. I recently have been blessed with lots of opportunities of meeting new people, some I am have been inspired from and others are the cause of this negative and judgmental world we live in.
When people get you down its important to remember it is not a reflection of yourself, it is only a reflection of them. Some people will always thrive on hurting and belittling you, no matter how kind you are, or how much you try and help them and others I have found are jealous of your positive outlook, but you must not take this on as it is their true insecurities that have been exposed.
Don’t let anyone steal your sunshine and take your smile, you are worth so much more than that. Don’t give them a second in your head to live rent free. I know it is easier said than done, but it is really important to remember. I let it get to me sometimes and I get so hurt by how cruel some people can be and then afterwards I will talk through it and realise it wasn’t me at all. The stronger you get, the more people will try and bring you down, you can withstand so many hits before you crack and say that’s enough!
We all get hurt by people at different times and are affected for different reasons, but it’s finding that strength even if it’s only for two minutes and showing that person that they haven’t broken your spirit, as we mustn’t let the bullies win. People will always, judge, criticize and try to break you, the key is getting up, showing your strength and not changing the qualities that make you an individual and shine bright.
I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week, be true and kind to yourself and others and please remember… every day is a new chance to try, it’s a chance for a fresh start, try and find something new daily that you love about yourself, affirmations are the key to self-acceptance and don’t ever give up on yourself or your dream… Life is so precious.
If you enjoyed this post, I’d be very grateful if you’d help it spread by emailing it to a friend or sharing it on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. Thank you!
