Happy Tuesday all,
I hope your week is off to a great start.
The last week has brought a few things to light about myself and my life, things I hadn’t realized before. I am always talking about being present, but even for me sometimes I get so caught up in the dream I forget exactly where I am, and that is in this present moment.
We all have goals, dreams that we wish to make reality, but what happens when you get so close to completing that goal and you realize that you no longer require that lifestyle for who you are today. As I have said previously, we are forever changing and evolving as beings, but what do you do when you outgrow your dream?
It’s funny how we all have these ideas of how our life is going to look in so many years to come, and for some people when they get close to that finish line they had created, they realize that it is just stuff and may not be what they need. We have had a lot happening in our little world recently, the good, the bad and the ugly. I believe when your life goes into turmoil, it’s always a good time to re-evaluate what is important to you at the end of the day….
Materialistic stuff is most certainly NOT! Can it make you happy? Only short term, never long term as happiness comes from self-love and acceptance, and that comes from digging deep to your core and working on yourself and fully accepting yourself for who you were and who you are today.
Lately I feel the more stuff I have around me the further I feel from the prize. It’s because we really don’t need a lot to make us happy. If we have that beautiful thing called love, from family, friends and most importantly from ourselves we don’t require much at all. I watch the big spenders around me and have come realise they are the ones that are struggling the most, they are screaming out for help and constantly looking for that quick fix to make themselves feel better. The sad thing is that the more they spend, the more in debt they become and the hole in their self-esteem only gets deeper.
Unfortunately, we live in a time where we are brainwashed to spend because we are told by major corporations that if we purchase that item it will make us truly happy, but it really doesn’t. It only makes matters worse and we are left forever chasing that high.
So, try and happy and grateful for what you do have today, enjoy this moment, cherish it with those around you, because you don’t know how much time, you or they may have, and you really don’t want to regret the time you could have made to spend with them and make those beautiful memories.
Starting today, I am doing a mind and house clean out and only keeping what serves me. If I don’t love it, need it or if it doesn’t make me a better person then it’s going out to the trash (or goodwill, always recycle people) because at the end of the day, less is more.
I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week, be true and kind to one another and please remember… Every day is a new day to try, you can quit your day job, just don’t ever give up on yourself or your dream.
If you enjoyed this post, I’d be very grateful if you’d help it spread by emailing it to a friend or sharing it on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. Thank you!
